hi and welcome to a new video from technic heroes. today is all about outdoor smartphones. conrad gave me four which we will destroy … ehh i mean put to the test. stay tuned. it will be exciting. we've all had it happen to us, the phone falls off the table, the screen cracked, you’ve downloaded the spider app. this should not happen with outdoor smartphones since they are built robust and tested according to military standards, meaning they are made for extreme situations. here are some key facts about the phones.
you can find more information in the description box. let's start with the stress tests. we will gradually pump up the pressure and since these are all different phones with different quality standards, we will see which one holds up. drop test let's check how the phones are doing. a cat phone was the first and it's still looking pretty good. we dropped the cyrus only from one meter as it's only certified for this height. it's also still looking very decent.
the samsung is a little chipped at the top. then we had the other cat phone which has landed on stones. it still works, only the screen got a little scratched. we need a lot more pressure to ruin them. let's go. pressure test the phones were not certified for a bike test but they've all survived. they are very dirty though. they need a good clean. water test
let's take a bath. the underwater resistance is pretty decent and you can even use the screen while it's wet. they don't even turn off under water so we can watch an episode of technic heroes in the bathtub. but they are all still working now … i think we need to step up the game. follow me. it’s quite busy here… i think the phones will have a good time, at least i will!
quick info about the iphone we broke before, it was an iphone 6 and it was already broken by water damage. we still have an iphone 7 plus here. it still works and you can decide what we'll do with it. destroy or giveaway? let us know in the comments how to destroy it or why we shouldn’t. let's get back to the ones we actually want to destroy right now. extreme weight approx. 10 tonnes i'd like to point out that our tests slightly vary from the official tests used for the phones.. anyway let's see what happened.
the cat s30, well… the display still works… kind of.. and the cameras seem to be intact. the screen has no cracks. the cat s40 won't start. we can try charging it later but the display seems to be unresponsive. the samsung… ehhh.. it works but the display doesn't show anything useful. it only has some small cracks in the front and the back of the case but the camera and lens are still ok. lastly, a very surprising outcome. the cyrus still works perfectly. display is ok, i can still use it, even the selfie camera still does its job.
only the main camera has a small crack. it's time for the super extreme drop test. height approx. 15 meters this was cool. sure, the phones are all screwed now but the unexpected winner is still the cyrus phone, because it survived the heavy vehicle and the 15 meter drop test. fascinating. the iphone is however still intact. you can decide if you want us to destroy it or raffle it out to you. (raffle is closed!)
