Fabulous Room Friday 04.03.14

Later today, I will be heading to High Point for a few days of taking in the design world’s latest offerings. High Point is always a whirlwind—tons of shopping, events, and networking jam-packed into a few short days. I’m excited, but I’m already exhausted just thinking about it!

Alessandra Branca has long been a designer I respect and admire, so I loved seeing her vacation home in the Bahamas featured in the latest Architectural Digest. It’s so nice to get a glimpse of how she relaxes when she’s away from the hustle and bustle of Chicago or Rome. I love the pared down simplicity and airiness of this room. It’s perfect for an island retreat! Alessandra paired an Oly bed with curtains in the most beautiful Les Indiennes fabric and crisp, monogrammed bedding. Underfoot, you have a seagrass rug and the dark finish on most of the casegoods throughout the room add the perfect contrast. Notice the lovely armchair in the corner. I wish we could get a better look at the fabric because it looks lovely. Doesn’t this look like the perfect weekend retreat? It doesn’t hurt that it’s in the Bahamas or that it was decorated by one of the world’s foremost designers!

Will you be attending High Point Market? If we cross paths, please be sure to say hello! Are there any vendors that we should definitely visit? Remember to follow along on Instagram @ladolcevitablog for a peek at fun finds and moments!
