Fabulous Room Friday 04.11.14
It’s only fitting that this week’s “Fabulous Room” would be by Celerie Kemble since I enjoyed her collection so much in High Point and her stunning home in the Dominican Republic is featured in this month’s Vogue (yes, the one with Kimye on the cover). She shared some of the story of how this magical place came to be while we were visiting with her in the Henredon showroom. No detail was spared and the result, particularly in Celerie’s bedroom is spectacular. The bed was custom-made after a bed from Celerie’s childhood home. Paired with simple, delicate Belino linens and pillows by D.Porthault, the look is quite special. The intricate, transom, carved wood paneling, known as tragaluz, or “swallow the light” in Spanish, forms an integral part of the architecture throughout the property. I don’t know that I would opt for something so whimsical for the day to day, but this bedroom is perfect for the storybook setting.
Have a wonderful weekend!
