we want to introduce the new nyos opus 300, our ready-to-use aquarium. what is the concept? the mission statement was "less is more" we have tried to reduce everything to a minimum so that nothing distracts from the inhabitants. because, after all, it's about the mini-reef in the living room so what is special about the nyos opus 300? normally we have a standard overflow inside the aquarium. that makes the reef scaping constructionobviously much more complicated it does not look so pretty and it is not that good to clean we thought about it for a long time andthen we decided to

move the overflow box to the outside at the back of the tank. so we have nothing in the aquarium, it iscompletely clean and we have a clear rear glass and nothing distracts. many aquarium back glass are black colored but we have improved the coloration. if you have dived once you know, that it is not black under water but it is a dark blue color and this is like we did. when the lights are off, the rear glass looks black but if we turn on the lights, we have a very deep dark blue

which gives a very natural look. this creates this realistic underwater effect in the main tank only transparent silicone was used that the edges are very clear and very transparent. there is a simple test that you can do: you take a banknote, every bill has an individual number printed on it you can hold it here behind the glass and if you now see through from the front you can still see exactly the individualdigits and that's the test for ultra-clear glass. the aquarium has definitely ultra-clear-glass. what else is special about this opus 300:

often it is the case that we at theaquariums below have this sand edge, it turns black after a while, it just does not look that good anymore this looks actually relatively ugly. and we also have a soil silicone seam - so we thought about that we put the aquarium 3 cm in the lower cabinet. because of that the bottom silicone seam is hidden, the edge of the sand is also covered and we just have a clear closed look, it just looks good. if we now go down a bit - here is the base cabinet: the base cabinet is completely pre-assembled

it is completely of one piece, so onedoes not have to screw an hour now, that everything fits together but you get it in one piece. of course, besides the savings in construction time, it has the advantage that we have a very nice finish. there are no edges, there is no seams, it's almost like oneblock and that is concerning the optics a super positive argument. the cabinet is completely painted from all four sides so very high quality processed and very well protected against seawater. because of this base cabinet being bigger than the aquarium

it is possible to transport the aquarium in the lower cabinet. that means if you buy a nyos opus 300 you get only one single box in the cabinet is the aquarium and in the aquarium itself there is the sump. for installing pull the aquarium out, put on the cabinetinstall the sump and three pipes screw on - done! so the one whois reasonably clever, is really done in the quarter hourand then you can start already so this is all about the cabinet: it is painted on all four sides, very high quality and i would

say, lets have a look in the inside. the doors have very comfortable pressure hinges - press once then they open and here we see now our 40 liter sump tank. we now just go the way of the water from the beginning to the return pump: first, we have a bubble and sediment catch at the back, which calms the water a bit. then we have this in the middle of the first chamber classic filter sock, which is very well suited as a fine filter to get all the sediments out of the water

and after the water flows over the filter sock, we have one more reserve chamber installed.in this chamber you can now for example, put activated carbon or phosphate adsorber in a filter sock and have a separate chamber for it the middle chamber is the main chamber we also call the main chamber skimmer. the water level is constant here. so we have around 20-21 centimeters and thus in principle optimal suitable for the nyos quantum skimmers. after the skimmer chamber comes the last chamber, this is the return chamber. what we did here

is that we used the free space over the return chamber and placed the refill basin around here. so it is not beside but on top of it and we just use this anyway available space and place our auto-top-off that has the advantage that we have a lid on it ultimately, evaporation is reduced andoperating noise can be minimized. the same is true on the right side. so a very clear closed look and it looksneat and tidy. if we go to the piping you can also notice:

we do not use any here hoses. it is a solid casing, again clean, tidy and it is easy to install. which variants are now available for selection: we have a white cabinet - that's clear - white fits always is modern, is timeless, and there is one more dark version which we did not do in black, because black is already very massive, that's why we took a basalt-gray color

that is a relative dark gray but still clear brighter than slate or anthracitei would say is a little bit more modern, a bit more stylish, personally i like it very much, and looks along with this too dark blue back wall really good.
