maybe some day… halloween? – oryou give to someone else? can i keep this? – if you soundso thrilled – most certain! todays topic is:less is more– minimalism! what does this really mean? welcome to our first part ofmeet the makers today’s topic is „less is more– minimalism“ how does minimalism work? and how can i practice minimalismevery day? i have invited a guest to helpme with those questions.

and i am thrilled that lisawill help me answer them1100:00:41,640 --> 00:00:43,460hi lisa, great to have you today! thanks a lot for taking your time– if you don‘t know lisa yet maybe you would like to introduceyourself? what do you do? yes, i am a youtuber and i cover many topics from entertainment to life coaching tips minimalism and vegan nutrition and so on. minimalism - what exactly does that mean?- so there is not one definition. for me, minimalism means thati consume consciously and that i think carefully:what things do i really use? what are the things that make me truly happy?

and than got rid of my stuff accordingly so two years ago you started with this topic. how did it get to the point inyour life? - i think i had just a phase where i questioned many things: my nutrition, my view onto the world and so on.first i became a vegetarian, than a vegan. and ifyou are on youtube searching for those topics, you often get recommendationsabout minimalism and that’s how i got into this

- you feel freer now? is itreally a new sense of life for you? what is happening when you live minimalism?- yes, i thought so! also because you gain a better feelingfor the things you own and how often you actually use them. i often got stinged by a bad conscience when i bought stuff and then somehow it didn’t get the necessary…attention from me. or i had the feeling:ok, have thati bought this, but its been sitting around unused for years now, and somehowi really don’t like thisat all. this is a pity. and now i know:everything i own isa valuable, good thing.

so now we will take a look in my closet and maybe discover i have the one or the other thing that can either be reused somehow or thatreally has to be sorted out. - okay, i'm curious! so, welcome to my dressing room. a firstlook in my closet! how do we start? how do youstart such an action? my wardrobe looked verysimilar in the beginning! and first i threw everything outand put it on the floor and divided all my clothes into categories

than i started sorting through one category after the other . you don’t have to do it necessarily in one day. just when when you own a lot, its totally ok to do it slowly, one step after the other. take your time for it okay, let's have a look heremy pants drawer .. .. starting with my favorite jeans, which i wore all summer and i will probably continue in winter. definitely the keep pile, if you sound so enthusiastic, definitely! for example, i have this body here i got from a shoot

as a present. but somehow, i just don’t like to walk walk around half naked. but i always think "maybesometime - halloween or something ?". - so either, as you say, find a way to really use it as a costume or reuse it in a different way - and if not:the give-away stack next, this is a pair of jeans,i don’t fit into any longer… and i always hope that it might again fit someday. how long do you have to wait until you say:"okay, now is enough time past, lets get rid of it?” - i usually wait for one whole year for each season to pass and when i realize

i still have not worn it – than i toss this thing out. maybe someone else enjoys this and feels good in this? lisa, thank you for all your tips! that was really great and i have to say, i'm prettypsyched and highly motivated to sort through my closet- you will also notice that very fast you start sorting other areas like cosmetics, shoes and decoration. at least it was like this for me – it becomes a habit at some point. you also have a youtube channel where you can watch many videos about this. check out the link in the description

of course we would be very happyif you share your experiences with us. just use the hashtag #makesmthngand then we can see how minimalism suits your personal lifestyle!have fun, and thank you! our next episode is a "clothes swap” and i'm sure i will have a lot of clothes to swap.
