oh, hello there. hello there. good morning everyone. hope you're all having a nice monday. over here it is time for us to leave. travel day. this week in mostar just flew by. like crazy how fast it went. we had so much fun here.
yeah, we loved the city. it has been one of our favorites so far. we absolutely loved it. and there is just so many reasons why we likedit. locals were friendly accommodating. we had amazing food. two particular places we liked are what å adrvanand tima-irma . yes. yes. we went there many times.
those places are wonderful so it has a veryunderrated food scene and just like we just felt really good about visiting a place likethis because you know during the 90s there was a this place was ravaged by war and thereis still many visible signs of that. the community is rebuilding and it just feelsreally good to be uh a part of that as a tourist visiting. anyways, let's give you guys a little apartmenttour. apartment tour before we run out of here. it is one of these really early morning starts. we were up at five.
uh yeah. it is hard to get up that early but what isnice about a day like that though is that we are scheduled to arrive at our destinationat one. so we don't feel like we're wasting our wholeday traveling. alright, so apartment tour. anyways, where are we. let's get focussed. haha. so we are in the living room slash kitchen.
yeah. so you can see over here we had a nice fairlyspacious kitchen. there was a fridge um yeah we just had everythingwe needed. lots of glasses and lots of plates. da da da duh. this was our it wasn't so much our diningtable as much as it was a work table. yep. um, we also made use of the nice couch towatch netflix as you do. okay, come on in here.
um, it is cold in november here. mmmhmm. especially at night and in the morning sowe utilized this electric heater a lot. a lot. like all day every day. and if you come in here you can see that thereis a beautiful rug, nice decoration on the bottom. um, the bed was comfortable. i should show the bed.
woop. backup. there we go. exactly. and location of this place was great. we were basically just a few minutes walkfrom the heart of the old town. you know the stari most the most famous bridge. and so it didn't take long to get there. and yeah this area was just off in a bit ofa back alley so it was also quiet too.
we didn't and there were lots of cats on thestreet. we befriended all of the cats. there were so many like kind of stray butwell taken care of cats. it reminded us of istanbul. and we ended up buying two boxes of cat food. we got to know all of the cats in our neighborhood. so uh we definitely made some kitty friendson this trip. very cool. well that concludes our apartment tour.
i didn't show you guys there is a bathroomsomewhere. i'll show you guys that. um, yeah, bathroom. so your standard bathroom. washing machine. washer which was awesome. shower was fantastic because it had good waterpressure and tonnes of hot water. we needed the hot water because of this tinyheater. toilet sink that is it.
self explanatory. oh my gosh we are i wouldn't say we're runningbehind but we definitely need to go. we have to go. alright guys so we have arrived at the stationand as you can see there is quite a bit of activity going on this early in the morningat six thirty. i wasn't sure how active the bus station wouldbe but there is cafes open. there is a number of buses running. and yeah we didn't shoot our journey overhere because it was raining and we are carrying a smaller point and shoot for these typesof travel vlogs not my main camera.
ah, and it is not weatherproof so uh justgoing to give you show you guys a few shots here at the station and then we're going toboard on the bus. so basically i've got two questions to askyou? first off, what is in your hands? my breakfast. your breakfast. we stopped off at a little bakery on the wayto the bus terminal and sam picked me up some pastries. so that is my breakfast.
and that was 2 in local currency so yeah. it is very cheap. like just over a euro. one dollar something. so that is breakfast for you. and what is your second question? second question is we did not tell you guyswhere we are going? so where are we going today? so we are continuing onto montenegro.
we're going to kotor. kotor. i don't really know what part of the wordyou're supposed to stress. we'll figure it out once we get there andwe hear how locals call their city. so that is where we're going this morning. a new country. montenegro. excited for that. we're taking a van.
yeah, bit of a surprise and you had mentionedthat you noticed only 4 passengers when we booked the ticket. so yeah, it makes sense that we're takinga smaller vehicle. alright time for a much needed update becausewe are just about to cross the border. i'd say we're about half way done our journey. yeah, i've been sleeping the whole way asusual. um, but yeah we thought we would share theprices for the tickets. so you guys know. so in the local currency.
actually i just did the conversion so letme open up my phone. in the local currency it was 47 which is theequivalent of 24 euros and we actually walked to the bus station in mostar and bought ourtickets in person. it is considerably cheaper in person thanonline. yes, we were going to book them online andit was 33 euros instead of the 24 euros and if we booked them online we were going tohave to print them ourselves. and then the whole hassle of like findingan internet cafe exactly or whatever yeah. so yeah it is like so much cheaper if you'retraveling in this region to just go to the bus station buy your ticket and be done.
yeah exactly. and uh i forgot to tell you the price of ourairbnb that we stayed at in mostar. right. and i'll include a link in the descriptionbelow to the property. so it was normally it would be 29 dollarsa night but because we stayed a week we got a discount down to 26 dollars a night. so we thought that was really good value. um and yeah this is awesome. i'm finding the trip has gone so fast.
the bus has been like in combination it hasbeen empty for certain sections and packed for others. now it is empty. we nearly dropped off everyone so um i'm notsure if we're picking anyone up before we cross the border or not but uh i hope not. i kind of like stretching. oh my gosh across two seats. private transportation. seriously.
but it has been a very scenic journey so far. um, we've gone through all kinds of differentlandscapes and uh yeah excited to reach our to reach kotor. and we're going to go out for a meal afterthat so yes we are. stay tuned for that. so time for an update. we are still on the bus. it appears we're going the long way around. oh my gosh we got so close to arriving andthen we took this huge detour because we're
obviously picking up like going through differentareas to pick up people. so right now we are in the capital. we're in the capital. we're going to budva and then there is oneother destination. 4 stops. and on top of that so yeah we were expectingto be arriving at 1pm and now it is already 2pm. we're hopeful we'll be there at 4pm. hopefully.
so we're going to originally planned to goeat once we arrived for lunch but now we've made lunch this little stop here. alright a sandwich and burek. alright. let's try the burek with cheese. oooh. mmm. woah! we are here.
we basically went on a grand tour of montenegroby bus. it is now it is now three forty. we're scheduled to arrive at one. almost four hours later, no. two three four. no almost three hours later. i can't do math. anyways i wasn't prepared for nine hours onthe bus mentally. neither was i oh my gosh.
i'm exhausted that was a surprise. but anyways really glad to be here now wejust have to check into our airbnb and then we'll take you guys out for dinner. and the lady has been waiting for us since2 o'clock. i just got a message from her so yeah we needto roll. we need to haul some you know what. okay so we are all checked in. we had to dry off because it started pouringrain just as we were reaching the place. oh my gosh.
yeah, we are quickly learning that the balkansin november is uh yeah very much off season. very wet. very wet, very cold and when it rains it pours. also, we are so hungry right now because we'veonly had baked goods all day long. we were planning to have lunch a lot earlier. so yeah, now that we're here we're going totake you out to a restaurant. what is the name of the place? and our host recommended this place. it is called przun i think.
and she gave this to us and said we get a10% discount. and we plotted it on our google maps and itis a 4 minute walk. it is perfect, it is raining so we don't wantto go far. let's go do it. sam just tried befriending a cat that wastaking a poop. he didn't realize. hey kitty. it was about the size of hobie. it was huge.
well dinner has been served. we both got risottos. i went for the fresh vegetables. sam went for the mushroom. yours is better. i know. it is. it is good but i make a creamier risotto. i feel like i'm a risotto pro over here soi'm kind of picky about that.
but i'm so hungry right now that i'll takethis. i'll take it. it is still pretty good though. i really like my mushroom risotto. how is that? worth the wait after a long day of travel? so hungry, so glad to finally be here. that was a long day. we're just so both tired so yeah we're goingto say goodbye to you guys.
thanks for watching. we will have more from kotor very soon. tata.
